5 Marketing Tasks Hertfordshire Small Businesses Can Outsource

Running a small business usually means doing a bit of everything.

You’re looking after customers, managing the day to day, sorting admin, chasing invoices and somehow trying to keep your marketing going at the same time.

And marketing is often one of the first things to slip when things get busy.

The problem is, when your marketing stops, it can become much harder to bring in new customers consistently.

The good news is you don’t necessarily need to employ someone to get help.

Here are five marketing tasks you can easily outsource if you’re a small business owner in Hertfordshire.

1. Social media content

Social media is one of those jobs that always seems simple until you actually have to find something to post.

Then suddenly you’re staring at a blank Facebook page wondering what on earth to say 😂

A freelance marketing professional can help you:

  • come up with content ideas

  • write posts

  • create a simple content plan

  • schedule posts in advance

  • make sure your pages don’t go quiet for weeks at a time

You don’t need to post every day.

You just need to stay visible and give potential customers a reason to remember you.

2. Email marketing

If you already have a list of customers or enquiries, email marketing can be one of the easiest ways to stay in touch with them.

But it’s also one of those jobs that gets pushed down the list.

Support might include:

  • writing customer emails

  • creating newsletters

  • planning email campaigns

  • improving subject lines

  • organising mailing lists

  • reviewing what is actually getting opened and clicked

You may already have people on your database who would buy from you again if you simply reminded them you were there.

3. Marketing campaigns

Whether you’re launching a new service, running an offer or trying to bring in more enquiries, having a bit of structure around your marketing can make a huge difference.

Instead of posting something once and hoping for the best, a simple campaign might include:

  • social media

  • email

  • website updates

  • customer follow ups

  • a clear offer

  • tracking what worked

It doesn’t need to be complicated.

Sometimes you just need someone to help pull everything together.

4. Website content

Your website is often the first place someone goes after seeing your business on Facebook, LinkedIn or Google.

If the information is out of date, unclear or hasn’t been touched in years, it can put people off before they ever get in touch.

You can outsource things like:

  • rewriting service pages

  • updating website copy

  • adding blogs

  • improving calls to action

  • making your services easier to understand

  • basic SEO content updates

A few small changes can make your website work much harder for your business.

5. The marketing jobs you keep putting off

This is probably the biggest one.

Most small business owners have a list of jobs they know they need to do but never quite get around to.

It might be:

  • sorting a spreadsheet

  • updating customer information

  • creating a mailing list

  • planning next month’s content

  • following up enquiries

  • putting together an offer

  • updating a website page

None of these jobs are huge on their own.

But together, they can take up hours.

And if they keep getting pushed back, eventually nothing gets done.

You don’t have to do everything yourself

Outsourcing your marketing doesn’t mean handing over your whole business.

It can simply mean getting someone to take a few things off your plate.
